Coach Catherine's 2018 Favorite Things

This isn’t exactly the same as Oprah’s Favorite Things; however, I thought it might be fun to share with you a few of my favorite things and go-to items. It’s a peek into my routine and my life outside of working out (well…almost!).

Favorite Healthy Go-To Breakfast:

1/2 cup scrambled egg whites (I cook mine in the microwave), 1/2 cup sautéed tomatoes, 1/2 of an avocado

Favorite Splurge Breakfast:

2 fried eggs over easy, crispy bacon, crispy potatoes; I suggest Blue’s Egg in Shorewood for brunch!

Favorite Music:

Anything 80's from Steadymixes.com! I pull all our playlists for group classes from this website. Have a song or a band you’d like to hear as part of a workout mix. Let me know!

Favorite Soup:

During those cold winter days, I love a good hearty soup to warm me up. My favorite is a turkey chili with lots of meat and veggies and only one can beans, or a yummy slow cooker beef stew with sweet potatoes and double the meat.

Favorite Treat Meal:

Sharing a thin crust pepperoni pizza from Falbo Bros Pizzeria in Shorewood with Coach Mike, along with a glass of red wine.

Favorite Protein Sources:

Protein powder (whey), chicken, flank steak, egg whites, cod or tilapia.

Favorite Workout:

A good booty (glutes) workout that incorporates weights with bursts of cardio or core.

Favorite Workout gear:

Advocare’s Spark, a great sports bra, a tank top with sweatpants, and music to get me pumped up!

Favorite Healthy Snacks:

1 rice cake with 1/2 an avocado, 1 scoop protein powder & 15 almonds, or 1 Isagenix protein bar.

Favorite Movie:

Dune…I am a science fiction geek!
